Expanding Good Samaritan Fund: As people in our congregation and community continue to suffer the impact of our recent recession, our congregation has a unique opportunity to care for its neighbors. If you are in need of assistance because of a recent job loss or other financial struggles, please know that you can apply to the EKLC Good Samaritan Fund for financial assistance. If you are a family who would like to help out people who are struggling, but you haven't quite figured out how, consider making a gift to the Good Samaritan Fund. You will know that the money is being used to help people buy food and gas, cover housing expenses, or bring relief from high medical bills and other expenses
Mark your calendars now for two big celebrations here at EKLC. On August 30th, 2009, we will hold an outdoor worship on the Anderson Farm at the location where J.W.C. Dietrichson conducted the first worship service on the Koshkonong Prairie, August 30th, 1844. Then, on October 11th, we will hold a service here at church celebrating the formation of our congregation on October 10th, 1844. We are looking for a group to serve on a planning task force for these celebrations. Contact Pastor Clint for more details.
*Task force will meet in the council room April 28th at 6pm.
Calling all artists! 2009 is the 165th anniversary of East Koshkonong Lutheran Church. As a way to mark this anniversary, we are seeking artists to design new art for our church--banners for the sanctuary, paintings and art for various places in the church, statues and pottery or whatever else God is calling you to create. Consider this your invitation to find ways to bring faith and art together in your life. Contact the church office for more information.
Any one interested in compiling historical information about EKLC for the 165th anniversary please contact Bonnie Ehrke at 423-4348 or the Church office at 423-3017.
