What is a Spiritual Gift?

What is a Spiritual Gift?

All people have been given talents and abilities. When these abilities are used to bring glory to God, they become "Spiritual Gifts". They are received through our baptism and used to build up the Body of Christ and grow God's Kingdom.

To learn more about Spiritual Gifts, the following Bible passages are suggested.

There are many gifts and all of God's gifts are important!

Your gifts build up the Body of Christ!

How do I seek and discover my Spiritual gifts?

ELCA Spiritual Gifts Inventory is a self-assessment of 60 general questions, which will help you identify which gifts you have received in greatest measure. You can take this inventory two ways:

Via website: http://www.elca.org/evangelism/assessments/spiritgifts.html
Via hard copy at church

Following the inventory, study and prayer, you can further learn about your specific gifts by reading on. Only the service related gifts have been included. They are listed in alphabetical order.
